Posted on 12 Apr 2010 by Justin Ruckman

The Charlotte Clean and Green Festival will offer 43 free seminars from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The sessions will be held in the Levine Information and Technology Building and the Health Careers Building on the Central Campus of Central Piedmont Community College, 121 Elizabeth Ave.

Simultaneous tracks with will begin at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Pre-registration is not required. All sessions are open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. (…)

This year’s free green seminars offer attendees a great opportunity to learn more about solar, green building and remodeling, economical ways to save energy and save money and so much more,” Crowe says.

We’ve expanded the class offerings to include some for small business owners, as well such as Tax Rebates and Incentives and doing a greenhouse gas inventory.”

Crowe says the free educational component sets Charlotte Clean and Green apart from other green festivals.

As one of the event organizers, I of course hope for lots of folks to come out to take advantage of all the stuff that’ll be going on. In addition to the classes mentioned above, we’ll have 100+ exhibitors / vendors, scrumptious local food, and stuff for the kids to do.

But also I think it’s important to show support for products and services that could reduce the number of days that we have to deal with ‘code orange / red’ air pollution advisories. The light rail has us headed in the right direction, but there’s tons of changes you can make on your own that add up quickly.

And a big thanks for the CLT Blog coverage last year (photos above)- hope to see you there on Saturday!
