The beloved Emmy-winning Saturday morning cartoon series that taught millions of kids about grammar, civics, and science in the seventies is now a live show! Adapted for the stage by Theater BAM Chicago, Schoolhouse Rock Live is doing performances all around the country, and visits Charlotte in two days.
Date: April 18 — May 5
Check the schedule — shows are selling out. And if you don’t want to be overrun by the offspring of nostalgic Gen-X’ers, there is a special over-21-only show, complete with a pre-show party featuring Brixx Pizza, drinks, and free raffle entry for anyone in a 70’s costume.
From the official synopsis:
“Tom, a nerve-wracked school teacher nervous about his first day of teaching, tries to relax by watching TV when various characters representing facets of his personality emerge from the set and show him how to win his students over with imagination and music, through such beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs as “Just A Bill,” “Lolly, Lolly, Lolly” and “Conjunction Junction.”
