In honor of Veterans Day, a photo of a North Carolina Air National Guard C-130 taking off at Charlotte-Douglas. Notice the corkscrew-shaped moisture vapor on the props.

This photo was taken from the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport overlook. This photo was recently used by CNBC and can be seen here. This is a US Airways Airbus A321-211 (N165US).
Of the dozens of times I’ve been to the CLT overlook, only twice have planes been landing and taking off in this direction (36L) instead of the opposite direction on the runway (18R). Here’s a slideshow of some of my favorite photos I’ve taken at the overlook over the past year:
