Graphic study on population

Neil Freeman has assembled a graphic list of the 50 states and the 50 largest metros in the US, merged together and ranked by population size. I was surprised that NC comes in 6th, behind NYC, LA, Chicago, Texas and California. Charlotte-Mecklenburg is way down, somewhere around 60 I think.

Did Charlotte get gypped in NCDOT stimulus money?

As per usual. Of the $735m the state received for highways and bridges as part of Our Lady Stimulus Package, and the $468m the state is issuing out right now:

Charlotte gets $38.6m for sundry widening and repaving projects, plus a bridge replacement
Greenville-New Bern get $64m for a single project I can’t find any info about
Fayetteville [...]
