Environmental groups protest at Duke Energy HQ

Multiple environmental groups protested Duke Energy’s expansion of the Cliffside Steam Station about 60 miles West of Charlotte at Duke’s Uptown headquarters. CLT Blog’s @rhibowman will be posting more in-depth info later but you can catch some of the first photos from the scene after the break.

Duke Energy protest preview

The protesters will gather again, this time for a peaceful rally at Marshall Park, Monday morning at 10 a.m. to take in a few motivational speeches — including one by Gloria Reuben — before marching to Duke Energy headquarters an hour later.

Protests have been springing up all over the country amid the recent violence in Gaza, which escalated today with a fierce push by Israeli forces into Gaza City. The attacks started right after Christmas. Read more here:
