Not only does Old Fire Station No. 2 have a bulldozer artfully staged in front of it, but a banner that says ”Save the Firehouse” has recently been added to the facade. Charlotte’s oldest fire station is a hot topic and getting hotter. May 12 is the ”scheduled” demolition date. Please sign the online petition and join the more than 6000 members of the facebook group. We are urging the City, the present owner of the fire station and the Historic Landmarks Commission to find a solution that will allow Old No. 2 to stand.
