Kion Sanders, PRSSA 2009–2010 vice president of chapter development, is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is a communications studies major with a focus in public relations. In 2007, Sanders received his associate degree in marketing from Johnson & Wales University.

Professionally, Sanders has completed an internship, worked for a marketing firm and on the communications team for a local political race. As an intern for the CIAA Basketball Tournament, Sanders assisted with recruitment for national anthem performances, trained more than 200 volunteers for the hospitality program and worked as a personal assistant for celebrity clientele.

While working at CIP Marketing firm, Sanders trained and supported the retail partners of adidas America regarding technologies, products and strategies, promoted and communicated all brand values to retail partners and their associates, and acted as sales support/product educator during product launches.

As the press assistant for a local political campaign, Sanders was responsible for managing social media communication, overseeing media training sessions, solidifying public appearances for the candidate and assisting the communications director with advertising strategies.

Currently, Sanders is completing an internship with fashion-label Astor & Black Custom Clothiers.

Sanders spends his free time with family and friends, shopping, reading, traveling and living on Twitter.
