Every V-day, men and women invest a lot of money in that special someone to show how much they appreciate them. Below are eight of my suggestions to help you show your appreciation in Charlotte this weekend.

1. Hearts & Pin-ups:  Culture Initiative will host a Valentine-themed art soiree that will intersect varying stylistic approaches to the human heart with an interactive vintage, pin-up heartthrob backdrop. This event will occur Saturday February 13, 2010 at Dharma Lounge, starting at 9 p.m. with a $10 admission.
2. If you’re looking for chocolate-dipped strawberries, Kilwin’s has the solution you need.
3. Paper Skyscraper has a fantastic selection of cards and gifts that are sure to put a smile on that special someone’s face.
4. A “Valentine’s Day” movie premiers this weekend. Everyone is in this movie:  Ashton Kutcher, Dane Cook, Jamie Foxx, Julia Roberts, Jessica Alba, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dane, Anne Hathaway and more.
5. Suite is hosting their 8^th international affair Love Me Tender, Love Me Suite this Sunday night.
6. Charlotte City Carriage Tours will have horse-carriage rides available throughout the entire weekend.
7. Calloway’s Baskets and Blossoms has an extensive variety of gourmet food items, fresh flowers, plants and other gift items — and they deliver!
8. A nice-and-affordable restaurant to take your date to is ENSO, the Asian bistro. Great sushi. Great scenery and, most importantly, great service.

As CLT Blogger Desiree Kane mentioned, Uptown Charlotte is known for a few things: banking, nightlife and pretty people. I wouldn’t exactly label our men as “pretty” per se, but we are very stylish. Whether it’s walking through Founder’s Hall or having a great time at the Epicentre, you’re bound to find men who care about their image. This past week, I was everywhere uptown and took a couple of photos of corporate-men who were “pretty” stylish.

Joon, a new banking professional in the city. He's wearing T.M. Lewin. Joon defines his style as "Comfy-clean."

James, a banking professional from Charleston, SC. He's wearing 2-piece Brooks Brothers suit. James defines his style as "fresh-and-clean."

Damien, a local business owner. He's wearing Perry Ellis and Jos. A. Bank. Damien defines his style as "distinguished; identify with your personality."

Brandon, a local boutique owner. He's wearing Revolution clothing. Brandon defines his style as "organized chaos."
