The coolest meeting space in South End: the Magellan Idea Center

Special thanks to the Magellan Idea Center, whose support make this and other posts on CLT Blog possible.
Word on the street is Charlotte has the coolest meeting space in the Southeast. It’s a unique venue – perfect for a strategy session, brainstorming or other event for up to around 25 people.
Sandy Hewitt, the director of creative meetings at the Magellan Idea Center, says the space was expressly designed to visually stimulate, encourage open dialogue and inspire new ways of thinking. The loft space has high ceilings, lots of natural light, exposed brick and room to get up and stretch or sing karaoke or take pictures behind their pirate-themed photo board. It features art by North Carolina artists throughout the space.
The Magellan Idea Center is located in a restored circa 1893 textile mill in the heart of SouthEnd, Charlotte’s design district, with many restaurants and other amenities within walking distance. The center is minutes from uptown and a block to the light rail line.
The 2,000 square foot open space loft is on two levels with breakout spaces and lots of parking out front and in the back of the building. Wireless internet, desktop computer/printer and projector are included in the rental price. They even include in the pricing premium coffee, snacks and drinks, and easels with flip charts and white boards throughout.
If you need a trained facilitator to lead your meeting – which always shakes things up and helps groups meet their goals for the day faster and more creatively – they offer that too, for team building, idea generation and strategic planning.
Magellan Idea Center is offering friends of CLT Blog a 15% discount – $100 off! – for meetings booked by the end of March to organizations. Contact Sandy@CenterForIdeas.com for more information or to rent the center. Tell her CLT blog sent you!
