We’re back w/ another episode of 282!. Our final episode of season 1, shot on location at Heroes Aren’t Hard to Find.

With the Avengers movie having sold more than a $1.3 billion in tickets and with The Amazing Spider-man and The Dark Knight Rises still come, comic book movies are hot! And this week we are on location at Heroes Aren’t Hard to Find with the owner, Shelton Drum. This June Shelton hosts the 30th Anniversary of his Heroes Convention, at the Charlotte Convention Center, with special guest Stan Lee. With an estimated three-day attendance of 15,000 visitors, The Heroes Convention will be bringing many comic book fans to Uptown.

As a lead into the convention, Shelton is hosting an art show of original work by local artist John Hairston, Jr. “John Hairston, Jr. celebrates the art of 1962 era Marvel Comics with 10 life size canvases on display at Heroes Aren’t Hard to Find. John will paint an 11th canvas LIVE on opening night! Opening Night is June 1st at 7PM and the show runs through June 30th.”

May is Small Business Month and City Councilman Warren Cooksey wants everyone to know about the growth and success of a Charlotte based small business and the nationally know convention that fill many Uptown hotel rooms.

All this and more on 282!

Our guests this week:

  • Warren Cooksey, Charlotte City Council
  • John Hairston Jr, local artist, All City Studios
  • Shelton Drum, owner, Heroes Aren’t Hard To Find
