Too darn hot!

Today, Sunday, was by most measures the peak of Charlotte’s recent heat wave. The upcoming week will bring us just a day or two more of sun, finishing out with a solid block of summer storms.
Don’t be like I was today — playing an hour of tennis at the peak of the day, at the peak of the heat wave, only to come stumbling home in defeat. Here are a few common tips for braving the hot weather without injury:
- drink plenty of liquids
- wear light-colored, lightweight, loose-fitting clothing
- don’t consume too much alcohol or sugar (both dehydrate your body)
- avoid very cold drinks, which can cause stomach cramps
- limit outdoor activity to morning/evening hours and stay inside when possible

Wow, that sun is HOT! The pic I mean…but yes the heat is excruciating..
I totally agree … it’s too darn hot !!!! But the picture is amazing. And if this is any indicator of what summer is going to be like … it’s going to be one hot summer.
