Even though the event passed a couple weeks ago, I want to take a minute to look back at Taste of the Nation. For $50 you got to sample food from some of the best restaurants in Charlotte, and help yourself to all varieties of excellent beer, wine and spirits. 100% of proceeds benefitted the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina and the Community Culinary School of Charlotte.
Each year attendees vote on their favorite dishes and displays, and this year the winners included Upstream, Mez, Firebirds, the Gallery at Ballantyne Hotel, and CPCC with an amazing chocolate fountain display featured in the video above.
The event also included live and silent auctions, and live entertainment.
You can learn more about the event on their website. And follow @CLTdining on Twitter for news about this and other food & beverage news around Charlotte. Had I not been informed about the event by @CLTdining, I would have probably missed it. And that would have been a shame because it was delicious, especially the pork served by the Westin’s Ember Grille.
Also featured in the video is Tom Sasser, President/Owner of Harper’s Restaurant Group and co-chair of Taste of the Nation; and Sara Hada (@sarahada).
