Big turnout yesterday at the Tax Day Tea Party in Charlotte. Estimates are around 2,500 in attendance.

You can learn and see more at the event’s website, including pictures submitted by attendees.

Where were these people when the Bush administration was running up record deficits and using tax dollars on the Iraq war?
I guess it’s okay to to use tax dollars on a senseless war but using tax dollars to prevent economic collapse or energy independence is greedy big government.

Ok, well, just unsubscribed from your blog. Thanks for the heads-up. Have fun getting teabagged.

Haha, I never said anything about taking sides. But a self-organized gathering of 2,500 people in a city our size, for whatever reason, is newsworthy. The fact that so many people are physically riled up about this is definitely worth talking about.

Anyway see you around. It’s not quite so easy to get rid of us as simply unsubscribing. :-)

I’m sorry that you didn’t stick around long enough to see that we also posted a story on Drinking Liberally’s anti-tea party: http://cltblog.com/2009/04/drinking-liberally-in–

Just because journalists report on an event doesn’t mean they or their news agency support the event.
