The 12,000 square-foot exhibition will include such rare specimens as the Detmold Child a 6,420-year-old child mummy from Peru, making it one of the oldest mummies ever discovered.
In addition, found artifacts and interactive multimedia components will reveal the process and history of mummification as both a natural process and intentional practice.
Mummies of the World opens at Discovery Place on November 11. For more information, visit the exhibition’s website.
