Charlotte and Cleveland, separated at birth?

Posted on 11 Feb 2009 by Justin Ruckman

I happened to see an aerial shot of Cleveland, Ohio this morning, while reading the news — and I did a double take. For more than a couple seconds, I thought I was looking at Charlotte instead, the skyline composition is remarkably similar.

I loaded up Google Earth to create the aerial comparison above, then searched through Flickr for some skyline shots to corroborate my findings.

Rosie Reilman even goes on to tell me that the same architect (Cesar Pelli) designed both our crown-topped BoA tower and Cleveland’s Key Tower. The more you know.

Dear Jruck: please never compare the Queen’s City to the Mistake on the Lake ever EVER again.

Nice comparison. Although, I think Charlotte gets better weather.
