Google Earth has a nice view of Charlotte

I downloaded the new version of Google Earth today (version 5.0) and noticed a dramatic improvement in the 3D models for much of uptown Charlotte. I’m not 100% sure if this is a new feature to the 5.0 version, but I know the additions are no more than a month or two old.

Another Google Earth addition to version 5.0 is historical imagery. You can now look back at satellite images of Charlotte as early as January 27, 1993. Notice the lack of Hearst Tower and the Panthers’ Stadium in the image below.
