At last night’s city council meeting, CATS announced a new preferred route for the LYNX Northeast Blue Line extension. It’s not a drastic change, but it keeps the light rail line on the existing railroad tracks for a little over a mile longer, and cuts down on the land that CATS would have to acquire in that area. The new route would save $57 million, and have a greater impact on development around NoDa.

I definitely like the new route better. Trying to force the train along N. Tryon isn’t necessary the whole way.

I agree Justin, but I think it would have an immensely positive impact on all the stores/restaurants there at the Asian Corners to have a station so close instead of a little farther away down Sugar Creek.
