2008 U.S. Olympic Whitewater Team Trials

Posted on 25 Apr 2008 by Justin Ruckman

If you didn’t know, now you know. The beautiful US National Whitewater Center, located at the edge of Charlotte near Mount Holly and Belmont, is hosting the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Whitewater Slalom. Matt Tyndall and I stopped by today to get our media credentials and scope out the event.

If you had any doubts about whether or not to come out tomorrow or Sunday, let me put you at ease: the facility is fantastic, the athletes are impressive, and the crowd is pumped. And the event is just getting started!

CLT Blog will be covering the event off and on all weekend. For the latest updates, head over to cltblog.com/live. We’re experimenting with live coverage and will be posting pictures, event updates, and athlete interviews as often as possible.

For more info about the USNWC and the event, visit their website.

This place is beyond words that’s how awesome it is… and it’s literally in our backyard guys. If you don’t make it to the Olympic Trials today (the last day), just make sure you check it out at some point. I was there all day yesterday and it has so much to offer!
