I-77 car chase, crash and run
Posted on 21 Apr 2008 by Jason Keath
“…a Cornelius police officer in an unmarked car saw the suspects breaking into a house on Will Knox Road… The suspects, driving a silver SUV allegedly stolen from Huntersville on Tuesday, veered around the stop sticks and the pursuit began. When the suspects got to Sherwood Road, they allegedly carjacked a Huntersville town employee at gunpoint, taking his public works pickup truck with a trailer attached.”
This all went down a few days ago on Wednesday, April 9th. Read more from WCNC staff.
I was watching the news when they broke the story last week. So many things about their crime were not thought out properly. 1. If you are going to steal a vehicle, don’t steal one with a trailer attached. 2. If you think your day might include fleeing from police, wear clothes that fit to maximize speed. Then again, criminals don’t tend to be the brightest crayons in the box, do they?
…and for goodness sake, SPLIT UP when you run. That 3rd guy was so far behind, but just kept following his buddies.
yeah, if they would of split up when they first started running, it seems like at least one of them might of escaped, not that i wished any of them would, but you know.
a website that critiques efforts by criminals to flee the police would be pretty funny. i wonder if it already exists.
Did anyone else catch the police officer tripping on the curb and falling on his face? Hope he’s ok!
Deanna, I didn’t see that.
Hope he didn’t get hurt chasing those fools.
Jason and Ben, I noticed that. Follow the leader isn’t a good strategy. I’m all for a site to make fun of stupid criminals. Have you seen crimeincharlotte.com? She posts mugshots of recent arrests and there’s a discussion board as well.
the officer is in mid-flop on the still image above. (what do you call that image, anyway? Default view?)
