Crown Town Handmade Make Out sessions

Posted on 22 Nov 2010 by Brooke Sloan Gibbons

I just finished up a week-long stint of being a guest contributor on the indieNC blog. It was an honor to share with readers my favorite Charlotte crafters and events. I wanted to repost an entry I wrote about the wonderful Crown Town Handmade:

I was ecstatic when I learned about the Charlotte craft collective Crown Town Handmade. I’ve briefly mentioned them on my blog but I wanted to elaborate more about the group and their “make out sessions” here.

Members of the collective regularly get together for workshops and community events. In April they began hosting monthly “make out sessions” at Charlotte’s Patchwerk Playhaus, a cool little theater in the back of Century Vintage. These craft sessions are open to the public and usually held on the last Thursday of the month.  There’s a different craft and a different instructor each month, and Crown Town’s blog gives a heads up in advance about what the project will be, and what supplies will be needed.

Definitely worth checking out!
