This weekend is another great weekend here in the Queen City. It is filled with two very exciting events, the 10th Annual Oktoberfest and the Charlotte Film Festival. CLT Blog will be there and bring you coverage from both. Expect full write ups on Monday.
The Charlotte film festival, which is currently going on, has a wide range of films including short films, documentaries, and narratives. The tickets are sold individually for each screening or you can go to their site and get packages. They will have screening going on at several locations all day. Also if are a a film maker you can also take advantage of the film panels.

Date: September 26th-28th, 2008
Tickets: screenings: $6.50, discussion panels: $3
Okotberfest has become a Charlotte tradition and this year will be one of the largest festivals to date. With hundreds of brewers from around the country and many local brewers giving out unlimited samples to festival goers it will be a great day for beer connoisseurs. It will be at Memorial Stadium from 2-7pm. The bad thing is that it is completely sold out, but there are alot of tickets over at Craigslist (might be pricey though).
